Who we are

PING is the school app of Crescent Pathways, an online British Islamic school. Crescent Pathways is the data controller.

Website: https://www.crescentpathways.co.uk

App developer

PING is built and published by Rinaztec LTD on behalf of Crescent Pathways. Rinaztec LTD acts only on the school's instructions and does not use pupil or family data for its own purposes.

Developer contact: riaz@rinaztec.com

Who uses PING

Accounts are created by the school office. Teachers, parents and office staff sign in with a school email address. Pupils do not have accounts. Nobody can register themselves.

What we collect

- Name and email address of the account holder

- Pupil name, year group and class, as uploaded by the school

- Attendance marks: present, late, left early, absent

- Alerts ("PINGs") sent by teachers, including the reason and any note

- Qur'an memorisation, revision and homework records

- A notification token from your device, used only to deliver alerts

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, files, health data or payment details. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we show no ads.

Why we hold it

To take registers, tell parents promptly when a pupil is late or absent, record classroom concerns, route safeguarding matters to the designated lead, and track Qur'an progress. Our lawful basis is the school's public task and legitimate interest in running lessons and safeguarding pupils.

Who can see what

Teachers see only their own timetabled lessons. Parents see only alerts about their own children. Safeguarding alerts go to the designated safeguarding lead, not to families. The school office can manage roster data.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. Data is held on the school's backend provider and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, used solely to deliver notifications. Rinaztec LTD, the app developer, can access data only where needed to support and maintain the app for the school.

Security

All traffic uses HTTPS. Sign-in is verified by the school's server; there is no offline password bypass.

Retention

Records are kept while a pupil is enrolled and for as long as the school's retention policy requires, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data, and may object to processing. Contact the school at info@crescentpathways.co.uk. For technical questions about the app, contact Rinaztec LTD at riaz@rinaztec.com. You may complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We will update this page when the app changes.
